Financial Services Analyst, General Payments Section, Disbursement Operations Office

This position will audit and process payments using statewide and agency unique accounting systems. This position will review the work of accountant staff for accuracy and provide on-the-spot training as needed.

Annual Salary Range: $47,569.65 - $61,560.72

Your specific responsibilities include auditing payment documents including utility invoice transmittals, right of way invoices, purchasing card transactions, travel and individual reimbursement vouchers, and MyFlorida MarketPlace (MFMP) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, directives, policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles.

The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, contract terminology and statutory regulations, accounting principles, practices and procedures, an accounts payable system and payment processing; Skills in auditing, organizing records, handling multiple tasks, and handling interruptions; Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work in a team environment with shared tasks, communicate effectively orally and in writing, deal with internal and external customers in a prompt, professional and courteous manner, analyze transactions and reconcile accounting records, record, create and document accounts payable practices into written electronic and professional quality reports and procedures, create and maintain spreadsheets that track and graph data and produce professional quality reports, analyze, evaluate and test accounts payable system including making process and system improvement recommendations, provide on-the-job training on accounts payable auditing, processing and systems.

Minimum qualifications: Four years of professional business work experience plus one year of accounting experience. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may substitute the required professional work experience in addition to the one year of accounting experience.
