Family Services Specialist - 60072645

The Family Services Specialist assists the Program Administrators and unit supervisors by providing analytical review and analysis of program activities and performs a variety of tasks with the Child Protective Investigations team. Tasks include interpretation of data, providing assistance to staff and supervisors surrounding policy and creation and maintenance of in-service training products and needs. Additionally, the FSS conducts investigatory quality reviews and participates in special projects as needed. Provides consultation and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems-related or process-related topics. Collects data and identifies trends and developments in Child Protective Investigations activities, including identifying necessary improvements and adjustments to ensure program effectiveness. Develops monitoring tools. Conducts research and collects information to identify nationwide improvements in Child Protective Services. Conducts second-party reviews as mandated or as assigned by supervisor. Assists in monitoring caseloads and develops tracking systems as necessary. Develops and prepares program manuals, policies, procedures, standards and rules. Facilitates in-service trainings for frontline staff and supervisors related to various subject matters. Develops methods to implement and administer policies, procedures and program activities including in-service training and materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years or more experience with Child Protective investigations concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Has held the position of Child Protective Investigator Supervisor previously or currently.
  • Active CWCPI certification through the Florida Certification Board.
  • Experience working with MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint at an advanced level.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to collect research and evaluate data to reach logical conclusions.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, follow-through and demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
