 
                                                
                                            This is an intermediate-level position performing engineering work in Wastewater Management Program under the direction of the Environmental Manager.
Conducts pretreatment compliance inspections and pretreatment program audits. Participants in on-site inspections of industrial users. With supervision, provides technical review of pretreatment program submissions received by the Department (including plans of study, reports, and other deliverables) to verify compliance with Chapter 62-625, F.A.C.
Assists Department staff and management with interpretations of rules and policies. Assists in training and providing technical guidance to staff and management on the industrial pretreatment program. Assists in developing standard permit conditions and DEP's wastewater permit generating tool (Permit Builder).
Tracks compliance status of developing and approved programs and assists management in the preparation of enforcement actions for noncompliance with pretreatment rules, requirements and regulations.
Maintains DEP's pretreatment tracking systems and data entry into EPA's compliance data management system.
Consults with, coordinates with, and responds to inquiries from state and federal agencies, local governments, regional planning agencies, businesses, professional interests, engineering firms, and the public on wastewater management issues (including pretreatment and reuse rules). With supervision, provide training and makes technical presentations to inform these interests about the Department's Pretreatment and Water Reuse Programs.
Contacts developing and approved pretreatment programs to ensure deliverables are submitted in a timely manner.
Provides assistance with the Water Tracker facility response team as needed during emergency events.

Pay: $46,350/annually
