The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) District Support Coordinator position is located in the Florida Panhandle and surrounding areas serving the counties of Bay, Calhoun, Escambia, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton, and Washington. This position is responsible for coordinating early intervention transition services in the Panhandle region and surrounding areas for children ages birth through 5 years who are participating in the Parent Infant Program.
The duties include representing FSDB in the region by participating in DOE Interagency Council meetings and other pertinent local provider meetings. The incumbent identifies and refers new Parent Advisors (early interventionists), participates in IFSP, IEP, and other meetings as necessary with Early Steps, local school districts, and other agencies for families with children on caseload. Assists with 3–15 Parent Advisors in the region by providing procedural information, guidance, and mentoring as necessary. Maintains a caseload of no fewer than 10 children with sensory loss. Collaborates with FSDB Parent Infant Program staff and disseminates information as necessary. Travels as required to meet job responsibilities.
The position requires a bachelor's degree in visual disabilities, counseling, psychology, early childhood education, social work, or a health-related field. Applicants who are selected for hire will be encouraged to learn American Sign Language. FSDB provides education to acquire sign language skills.
The hiring salary range is $49,670.40 - $57,170.40 annually. This range is inclusive of verified experience and education.
