As a Background Screening Technician, you will assess confidential and/or sensitive documentation from multiple sources to complete Level II background screenings for the Department of Children and Families, those volunteering with, or seeking employment directly with and with facilities or entities licensed or regulated by DCF and APD. Background Screening Technician are responsible for making eligibility determinations based on established statutory criteria.
Receive data and documentation to assign, provide access to the various systems, DCF, CLH in order to commence the Background Screening process. Receive out of state documentation to process Child Care screenings.
Process incoming Clearinghouse (non-ident, agency reviews, and resubmissions) screenings to assist with maintaining the appropriate service levels. Provide correspondence to all applicants or providers as needed. Process Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN) for the Background Screenings that required such requests within service level objectives. Perform data entry for background screening results. Review and process work received in the Background Screening mailboxes.
Answers BGS Helpline, research and resolve the calls that can be and update the CLH notes. Routes questions/issues regarding specific request to review by coordinators and unit supervisors for handling.
Position will also provide support to applicants and providers who contact the BGS Helpdesk for assistance by coordinating or performing the work necessary because of the requests received and will verify with local office staff as needed.
