Fire Protection Engineering Intern

Be a part of an innovative team and culture at Walt Disney Imagineering. This internship is located in Orlando, FL, with an approximate date from January 2026 to May/June 2026. As a Fire Protection Engineering intern, you will have a wide range of opportunities to contribute to project success by developing designs and providing engineering support to Walt Disney Imagineering Architects and Engineers on various types of projects including Attractions, Resorts, Food and Beverage, Merchandise, and Entertainment venues.

As an intern on the team, you will have the opportunity to assist project Engineers and Architects including: Fire Protection, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Electrical, in all phases of project work, from drafting, on-site as-built documentation, design coordination with outside design consultants, field data collection, design/production work, construction administration, loss prevention, commissioning, and close-out documentation for a variety of projects ranging in scope from minor rehabs to building new facilities.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior related work experience is desired, including co-op/intern programs with a focus on architecture, engineering, or construction
• Demonstrated/proven strong leadership, technical and interpersonal skills
• Self-starter with demonstrated initiative - able to handle multiple tasks and priorities
• Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements
• Ability to manage time effectively and in various work locations including on project sites and occasional remote work

Education:

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree majoring in Fire Protection Engineering or Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

• Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program

Additional Information:

• Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work
• Must be fully available for the duration of the internship
• The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $30 per hour for undergraduate students and $35 per hour for graduate level students. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package.
