Staff Development And Training Consultant Ops
This is an open competitive opportunity with the Department of Children and Families – Office of Quality and Innovation Workforce Learning and Development. This is a full-time position located at the DCF Tallahassee Headquarters Office. Salary is $25 per hour.
The Office of Quality and Innovation (OQI) serves as the catalyst for ensuring high levels of performance across the state to support a strong workforce and positive outcomes for Florida families. The office seeks collaborative, action-focused, and transparent professionals dedicated to putting quality at the center of serving families. This position will work on the OQI's Workforce Learning and Development Team. The team is dedicated to address the learning and professional development needs of our workforce. The mission is to implement and maintain comprehensive training to support employees through their career with the Department.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in instructional design/curriculum development building eLearning, virtual instructor led and in-person training for a workforce of adult learners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Articulate
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. in instructional design, curriculum development
- A minimum of 3 or more years of experience in instructional design/curriculum development for a workforce
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serving as an instructional designer on the Curriculum Development Team (CDT)
- Using instructional design methodologies to develop and/or evaluate various workforce learning resources such as required trainings, training programs, and specialty courses based on the analysis of department needs
- Ensuring training complies with Section 508, of Rehabilitation Act regarding accessibility, usability, and functionality standards for classroom, online, self-study, and blended learning opportunities
- Piloting new trainings when appropriate to ensure necessary changes and revisions are made before implementation
- Assisting program offices in the planning and development of pilot learning programs, evaluating results, and using the findings to establish new or modified learning programs
- Participating in or facilitating curriculum review committees with other program training managers or coordinators, to collaborate about the needs of training across program areas and the Department
- Assisting the lead team member responsible for working with program office training managers to collect training materials and coordinate a revision calendar to schedule when curriculum needs to be updated
- Reviewing historical training to determine if training will benefit from eLearning technology resources
- Working with the Quality Assurance Specialist to update a training resource library with trainings collected from program offices and hospitals statewide
- Supporting the LMS team to maintain and update courses available through the Department's Learning Management System – My FL Learn
- Creating training for statewide implementation and setting expectations for which parts of the curriculum must be covered statewide
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Experience in training, curriculum drafting, and instructional design
- Experience designing training with an understanding of Section 508, Rehabilitation Act compliance and accessibility standards
- Consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism using excellent communication and presentation skills with all levels of leadership, management, and staff
- Experience with adult learning theory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint (Office Suite) and Microsoft Teams
- Skills with Articulate Storyline and design tools such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.
- Capable of working with a high degree of independence, determining work priorities, and ensuring proper completion of work assignments
- Exceptional critical thinking skills
- Strong interpersonal skills that include the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, teach, coach and mentor workforce
- Passion for learning and improving training programs and learning management system processes
- Ability to make decisions and recommend solutions
- Knowledge of project management principles for instructional design projects
- Proficient in collaborating within a cross-functional team
