Job Description

The Senior Commercial Sales Associate (US) will partner with Regional Vice Presidents and Relationship Managers in managing the day to day commercial loan support in the Regional Bank. The Commercial Sales Associate ensures that processes are conducted efficiently and timely and according to established policies and procedures and legal and regulatory guidelines along with service level agreements. This role will ensure consistent training, advice and guidance to staff members on practices and procedures, identifies weaknesses and coordinates training for commercial personnel as needed.

Depth & Scope:

  • Provides leadership, coaching and guidance to team members
  • Verifies accuracy and completeness of assigned staff's work, identifying and addressing training opportunities as appropriate
  • Develops plans to achieve short-term team goals and complete assigned projects
  • Researches and resolves issues that cross several areas of operations and other areas of the Company. Delegates tasks and authority to enhance performance of assigned units
  • Actively assists in managing the reporting process assisting the Regional Vice President in monitoring the delinquencies, maturities and annual review process
  • May represent the Commercial Front Line of Business on various task forces and committees
  • Assists staff with moderate to complex aspects of account administration as necessary; assists in resolving escalated procedural issues and problems by conferring with staff, other internal departments and outside contacts as necessary
  • Determines and executes the necessary steps to ensure that CSAs have the tools and resources required to excel in their role
  • May develop and enhance a team approach that enables the CSA to actively participate in the loan origination and ongoing management of the portfolio
  • Encourages open communication with the Commercial Loan Specialist (CLS) during all aspects of the origination and renewal/modification process
  • Assists in contributing to development of unit(s) policies and procedures in coordination with Commercial Lending personnel
  • Partners with Loan Servicing team to ensure that all transactions relating to servicing are accurate
  • Plays an integral role in the underwriting process, ensuring a quick turnaround of decisions to the customer
  • May evaluate effectiveness of managed organization. Implements changes or reorganization of units to enhance operational performance and create efficiency of operations
  • May provide notary services to Customers as needed

Education & Experience

4 year degree or equivalent experience 4+ years related experience required Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state regulations and UCC and banking regulations Leadership, coaching, counseling and supervisory skills Excellent written and verbal communications skills In-depth knowledge of loan documentation required Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong planning and organizational skills PC skills - including Word, Excel, Access and other Microsoft products Strong working knowledge of commercial banking systems Previous supervisory experience Ability to balance competing priorities and make sound business decisions
