Saturday – Tuesday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Occasional holidays on an on-call basis

What You Will Do:

In this position, you will be responsible for receiving, reviewing and assigning all abuse reports received from the Florida Abuse Hotline. Additionally, you will follow up with the appropriate supervisory personnel to ensure they are aware of pending investigations and staff assignments.

How You Will Make An Impact:

  • Print and review all abuse reports received from the Hotline and OTI requests called in from other counties.
  • Review appropriate databases for previous or open investigations and child family involvement with other family safety programs.
  • Provide clerical support for a multi-function Family Safety Unit
  • Prepare intake case records for Child Protective Investigator for cases received over the Child Abuse Hotline.
  • Assign cases to CPI or CPI Supervisor
  • Package investigation information and conduct diligent searches
  • Archive case files and maintain rotation and case logs

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Microsoft Office Suite experience

Two years of clerical experience preferred

Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Additional Information/Requirements:

Some agency positions may require successful completion of pre-interview assessment or work sample prior to interview.

Ability to speak/read/write Spanish or other foreign language may be considered in the selection process as determined by the Agency need at the time of interview.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication

Knowledge of the methods for organizing and presenting data.

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

Ability to prepare reports

Ability to make decisions in a timely manner.

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
