Three years of secretarial or clerical work experience. College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check. Must possess and maintain a valid minimum Class E State of Florida driver's license.
Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, the Purchasing Card system, and State of Florida purchasing processes preferred.

The FWC's South Region has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Assistant to join a team of biologists and technicians in Palm Beach County, FL. This position provides administrative, secretarial, and clerical support to Wildlife and Habitat Management staff in the North District. This District includes the following areas: J.W Corbett WMA, Allapattah Flats WMA, John C. and Marianna Jones Hungryland WEA, John G. and Susan H. Dupuis, Jr. WEA, and the Kissimmee Bend and Okeechobee Units of the Everglades Headwaters WMA. The North District also coordinates management of the waterfowl hunting program on Stormwater Treatment Area 1W and the C-44 Reservoir and Stormwater Treatment Area. Activities in support of Wildlife and Habitat Management staff include: processing invoices, requisitions, purchasing card charges, and other administrative paperwork; assisting with the procurement of commodities and services; maintaining and organizing both paper and electronic files; collecting, counting, and depositing collections of day use entry fees; mailing documents and packages; managing routine office equipment and services (e.g., alarm, pest control, fire extinguisher, office supplies); assisting with budget tracking and planning; compiling, reviewing, and processing equipment tracking forms; scheduling meetings; coordinating staff trainings; receiving and routing telephone calls in a courteous and positive manner; receptionist, greeting and responding to the public as appropriate; providing assistance to other sections/offices/divisions; and completing other duties as assigned or needed. The incumbent must attend occasional regional and divisional meetings and various trainings as necessary.
