Recovery Systems Data Analyst - Ops

This position is located in the Bureau of Recovery's Systems and Reporting Unit, which is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining analytics systems, taking complicated problems and data sets and building frameworks and reports to inform disaster recovery programs. Specific duties include the following:

  • Maintain the Bureau of Recovery's systems and websites for internal and external users.
  • Provide user access management for Recovery systems.
  • Provide technical assistance to users of Recovery systems.
  • Prepare and scheduling reports to support Bureau programs.
  • Create ad hoc reports as requested by Bureau leadership.
  • Serve as backup for Bureau issues related to FDEM's Grant Management platform.
  • Provide training on the use of Recovery systems.
  • Maintain capabilities of existing recovery systems and identifying new capabilities to meet Bureau needs.

Staff the State Emergency Operations Center, Joint Field Offices, Recovery Coordination Centers, and/or other state or regional facilities activated in response to an emergency which may include: deployment around the state pre- and/or post-disaster, attending conferences, meetings, workshops, and other engagements related to Individual Assistance and Disaster Recovery.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include:

  • Ability to identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets.
  • Proven analytics skills, including mining, evaluation, and visualization.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct trainings to include advance program presentations and training workshops.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of government both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel overnight and to work non-traditional hours during emergency events and assume disaster related duties, as necessary.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • A minimum of two years' experience analyzing data consisting of complex datasets to include but is not limited to mining, evaluation, visualization, and presentation of data.
  • Computer experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and other database/spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to deploy during state emergencies, which may include working more than 10 hours a day, weekends, and nights for a period of at least 14 days.
