OPS (Temporary) Maintenance Mechanic Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans' Nursing Home Panama City, Bay County Hourly Salary: $16.33 Paid bi-weekly
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have two year experience in maintenance and repair of buildings
- Must be willing and able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays
- Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical.
- Experience with a long-term care or hospital environment
Position Description:
This is an OPS (Temporary) position that deals with the physical plant; grounds; utility; and maintenance functions of the Nursing Home to ensure a clean, pleasing, and safe environment. Incumbent will report to the Utilities and Maintenance Superintendent.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of the buildings do not deteriorate
- Provides routine repair services to defective equipment, repairs physical plant deficiencies, resolves routine work orders, assists with the assembly, delivery, and installation of facility equipment
- Documents actions and outcomes of preventative maintenance efforts, repair services and other routine actions to assist the Maintenance Superintendent in maintenance of a concise record of services rendered
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment, assists the Maintenance Superintendent with maintaining a focus of safety and accident prevention throughout the facility
- Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
