This position is an Ops Investigation Specialist I within the Consumer Services Unit. This position is part of a team that is the central processing point for all incoming and outgoing correspondence, complaints, and investigations involving possible regulatory violations by health care practitioners. Responsibilities include responding to consumers via telephone regarding complaints and investigations against health care practitioners, receiving, scanning, performing quality control check and uploading all complaints into the imaging database, processing all incoming correspondence and payments received and appropriately recording incoming correspondence in licensure and enforcement database and coding appropriately. Additionally, the position performs all other duties as required.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include typing, proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, knowledge of MQA database (enforcement and licensure). Ability to make independent decisions; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to organize workload; ability to prioritize. Ability to provide quality customer service, ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments independently with little or no supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Knowledge of techniques of researching, gathering and maintaining data.
Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-year administrative experience to include computer software, data entry and document preparation. College education can substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactorily complete a background investigation, fingerprinting, and participation in direct deposit are requirements for employment.
