Your specific responsibilities: As a Health Support Technician, you will play a pivotal role in our healthcare team, focusing on both clinical and clerical support functions.

  • Health Support Functions
    • Laboratory Support: Collect, label, and process specimens for various laboratory analyses as required.
    • Bilingual Client Support: Provide essential Spanish translation services to assist clients with limited English proficiency.
    • Clinical Preparation: Prepare clients for clinic visits by accurately recording height, weight, temperature, and medical history.
    • Assist Physicians: Support physicians during patient care, treatments, and procedures; ensure equipment readiness and sterilization post-procedure.
    • Clinic Coordination: Maintain efficient clinic operations by preparing exam rooms and guiding clients through their visit.
    • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage medical supplies to uphold seamless clinic operations.
    • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare reports to ensure compliance with state programs and assist in specialized treatments.
  • Clerical Support Functions
    • Appointment Scheduling: Utilize the HMS system to schedule appointments accurately. Schedule clients for tests and procedures.
    • Administrative Support: Assist with referrals and follow-ups as needed.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish
  • Advanced knowledge in laboratory procedures
  • Proficient in phlebotomy techniques

Qualifications:

  • Minimum – One year of clinical experience in a medical facility
  • Proficiency in venipunctures
  • Fluent English/Spanish bilingualism
  • Preferred – Experience assisting physicians during medical visits and procedures
