This is a part-time other personal services (ops) position with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service. The position requires six months of experience in heavy equipment or automotive repair work, or a certificate of completion from a technical school for automotive/heavy equipment repair. All fields in the candidate profile must be completed to determine qualifications for this position. Occasional to moderate travel is required, and the use of artificial intelligence tools to answer qualifying questions or participate in interviews is strictly prohibited.
Job duties include installing wiring, lights, and hydraulic components on Florida Forest Service equipment, using specialized tools in the fabrication and repair of steel and aluminum components, applying vinyl striping material, decals, and crew numbers to vehicles, performing major and minor repairs on all types of equipment, and assisting with the preparation of surfaces for the application of undercoating, primers, finish, and paints to industry standards.
