Mechanical Design Engineer Position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform work involving conventional engineering practices. The role includes initiating, directing, and managing the design, development, construction, and modification of products and processes from conception to implementation. This position works closely with other departments to coordinate design engineering activities and reviews, initiates, or approves engineering drawings, layouts, change orders, and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure internal and external customer expectations are met or exceeded.
• Adhere to all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements.
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques.
• Perform work involving conventional plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.
• Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations.
• Recognize discrepancies in results and follow operations through detailed steps or processes.
• Review test procedures and plans prior to implementation; conduct failure analysis and inspection on products, processes, and materials.
• Investigate, develop, and implement new process technologies of moderate scope.
• Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience:

• Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum Experience: 0-3 years of experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Computer proficiency as required by job responsibilities.
• Basic word-processing and spreadsheet skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palm Harbor, FL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $70,000.00 - $90,000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
