In this role, you'll assist with maintaining the grounds, interior, exterior, and equipment of county-owned and operated facilities. Ensure the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the building including debris cleaning, maintaining the restrooms, replacing lamps/bulbs, paint touch-ups, etc.

Inspect buildings and report all unsafe conditions to the Supervisor, test AED batteries, and inspect fire extinguishers.

Inspect custodial contractors' work, monitor storeroom supplies, and refill.

Replace the flag and dispose of it properly. Assist skilled trades workers with projects/repairs. Use of gas-powered pressure washing equipment on building exteriors/hard finishes.

Minor building maintenance: level/reset pavers on county property to eliminate trip hazards, concrete patchwork/crack filling, etc. Complete the proper paperwork for the work order management system.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday. 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. On-call required.

About You Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• One year of experience in applicable trade.
• Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Able to use hand tools, cordless power tools, and lawn equipment (hand blowers).

Physical Demands:

• May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
• Must be fit tested for a respirator.

CJIS Clearance: The successful candidate will be subject to an extensive background check(s) as a part of the hiring process.

Starting Pay Range: $18.21 (Step 1), depending on qualifications.
