Human Services Program Specialist

Your specific responsibilities include:

  • Attend HIV clinics at the Alachua County Health Department 5 days a week.
  • Be available to the attending physician.
  • See clients in clinic, both case managed, and non-case managed.
  • Document interactions with client in client's electronic medical record.
  • Provide social service information/referrals as needed.
  • Keep a Cabenuva tracking sheet, order Cabenuva for patients to have before clinic appointment.
  • Complete any paperwork/applications associated with Cabenuva.
  • Will see and assist clients in the PrEP clinic as needed.
  • Will see and assist clients in the Test and Treat clinic as needed.
  • Keep a tracking spreadsheet of clients referred to Current and make sure eligible clients with insurance are made aware of this service.
  • Assist with scheduling client appointments, assist with answering phone lines associated with clinic and navigators' office.
  • Attend HIV staff meeting monthly.
  • Confirm client's insurance through Availity, Change Health or other resources.
  • Receive and coordinate medical referrals.
  • Document efforts in handing referrals in client's electronic medical record.
  • Receive and complete Prior Authorizations for clinic clients.
  • Completes EARS daily.
  • Attend and participate in staff meeting and training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, this includes but is not limited to Emergency duty.

Functions required during emergency duty include but are not limited to Special Needs Shelters, Red Cross Shelters or other emergency functions.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

  • Knowledge of social, economic, rehab or health care services, administration or planning.
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing.
  • Ability to develop program manuals, policies, procedures, standards, rules.
  • Ability to conduct research.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum – Experience with Microsoft systems.
  • Experience working in a clinical/doctor's office.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
  • Driver's License
