Position Overview and Responsibilities: This position is located within the Onsite Sewage Program, a vital component of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's efforts to manage and protect the state's water resources. Primary responsibilities include conducting organizational studies and evaluations on office procedures, providing technical assistance, developing procedures to assist the Division of Water Resource Management to operate more efficiently and effectively, serving on the Onsite Sewage Program Intake Team, performing initial intake for permit applications and processing payment, receiving and directing phone calls from the public to appropriate staff, providing assistance to staff and the public in researching and retrieving files and data, and performing other related duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

+ Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication. + Knowledge of basic management principles and practices. + Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis. + Ability to review and monitor policies and procedures for compliance with applicable requirements. + Ability to evaluate and analyze data relating to grants management activities. + Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to grants management activities. + Ability to develop and organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, proposals and other written documents. + Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. + Ability to work independently. + Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. + Ability to communicate effectively. + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

+ At least one year of verifiable related experience in administrative assistance or customer service. Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees. + Valid Driver's License

Position of Special Trust Requirement: This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

Pay: $46,350 - $47,741/annually (commensurate upon experience)
