The Role

The Event Services Manager oversees and manages the customer contact and event services aspects of the Maxwell King Center for the Performing Arts, including monitoring and managing front-of-house services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strong communication skills, excellent customer service, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
  • Schedule and manage day-of-event services staff.
  • Interact with patrons in a friendly and helpful manner to enhance their overall experience.
  • Advance events by meeting with clients to ensure a successful and smooth event. Ensure that the event is executed as planned, from setup to breakdown, and that all objectives are met.
  • Collaborate, as needed, with other departments.
  • Works with internal service partners to provide quality service to customers as needed.
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments.
  • Maintain the proper image and generate positive public relations with patrons and staff.
  • Address complaints and concerns from patrons and solve problems promptly.
  • Implement facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ship/coordinate tour merchandise and process final settlement.
  • Manage building safety and organize safety and compliance meetings to educate staff and ensure adherence to regulations continuously.
  • Conduct staff meetings to coordinate schedules, discuss upcoming events, and address operational issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience: 3-5 years of Experience as an Event Manager (or similar) or a B.A. in a related field.
  • Fast-paced work environment with long periods of standing. Indoor and Outdoor.

Working Conditions:

Position requires frequent nights and weekends as determined by the venue's event schedule.
