 
                                                
                                            We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our team in South Florida. In this role, you will support the electrical design for municipal water and wastewater system-related projects. Responsibilities include functioning as the Designer/Project Engineer on projects involving medium and low voltage power distribution systems, lighting systems, and grounding systems for Municipal Water and Wastewater facilities and Industrial Projects using recognized industry standards and specifications. You will also develop design details for electrical power distribution systems (480V level), lighting systems, and control systems for major industrial facilities using recognized industry standards and specifications. Additionally, you will perform system calculations and studies for electrical power systems, load flows, voltage drops, short circuit/coordination studies using electrical analytical software such as E-Tap and SKM Tools. Coordination with CAD Drafters to create new or modify existing drawings and perform field investigation and condition assessment of electrical power distribution and control equipment are also part of the role.
Essential Skills include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), 4+ years of design and engineering experience for building, including electrical power distribution on industrial or complex commercial projects, working knowledge of standards and codes pertaining to electrical distribution and control systems, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel software. Effective communication skills – verbal and writing with supervisor, colleagues, and clients are also required. Additional skills and qualifications include experience with water/wastewater projects, preliminary knowledge of instrumentation devices (level/pressure/temperature/flow), and bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills are also necessary.

There is flexibility with working hours for production positions. The company is a 50+ person organization with a presence in Detroit, Indianapolis, Cleveland, and South Florida. Employees are required to be in the Ft. Lauderdale office at least three days a week and are allowed to work in a hybrid model. Attendance at meetings in the Tri-County Area may be required 1-2 times per month.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.68/hr.
