Desktop Support Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team and provide exceptional technical support within a Windows-based environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Windows operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and user support in a corporate setting. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day technology operations for our employees, maintaining system reliability, and assisting with IT projects and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on technical support for Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and other enterprise applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Manage Active Directory accounts, group policies, and user permissions.
  • Support remote users and VPN access issues.
  • Maintain asset inventory and ensure devices are properly secured and up to date.
  • Collaborate with the IT infrastructure team to deploy updates, patches, and system improvements.
  • Document procedures, incidents, and resolutions accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding of employees, including hardware setup and access provisioning.
  • Required Skills & Experience:

    • 2+ years of experience in desktop or IT support roles, primarily in Windows environments.
    • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.
    • Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, SCCM, or similar).
    • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.
    • Experience with imaging, scripting, or automation tools (PowerShell, MDT, etc.).
    • Familiarity with ITIL practices and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
