The position at Klarna is responsible for cultivating and managing strategic alliances with leading financial institutions, payment service providers (PSPs), and card networks across the globe. Our mission is to expand Klarna's commerce platform, enhance our product capabilities, and accelerate growth by fostering high-impact, scalable partnerships. We operate at the intersection of product, technology, and regulation—working cross-functionally to ensure our customers and merchants have seamless access to the most reliable and innovative payment experiences.

You will own Klarna's relationships with global PSPs, overseeing strategy, negotiation, and ongoing management. You will optimize Klarna's PSP ecosystem, ensuring it supports our rapid expansion and product ambitions. You will also track regulatory changes and network mandates, ensuring Klarna remains at the forefront of global payments innovation and governance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the relationship, development, and execution of strategic partnerships with PSPs which meet Klarna's product requirements and need for agility.
  • Ensuring that Klarna's PSP relationships are strategically aligned with the company's goal of expansion in product breadth and in geographic footprint.
  • Developing a deep understanding of PSP performance, market trends, and innovation to identify new partnership opportunities and capitalize on mutually beneficial initiatives.
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders on forging strong and lasting alliances that position Klarna as a leading force in the global financial landscape.
  • Serving as the focal point across Klarna functions in responding to compliance inquiries from the Card Payment Networks and the from PSPs regarding Klarna's payment acceptance practices.

You are a highly experienced professional with a strong background in partnerships within the payments industry. You thrive in a dynamic environment and can juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. You are extremely organized and effective in collaborating cross-functionally. You can wrestle complexity down to the ground and articulate Klarna's strategy and ways of working to an external partner in a simple and compelling manner.

Required qualifications:

  • 12–15 years of experience in product partnerships, business development, or strategic alliances—ideally within financial services, payments, or fintech.
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale PSP partnerships and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
  • Deep understanding of the global payments landscape, including card networks, acquiring, risk, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong product intuition with the ability to identify partner synergies that advance Klarna's roadmap.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across senior external stakeholders and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, data-driven, and comfortable operating in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment.

Prior experience in managing PSPs at a global e-commerce company or a Payment Network is a plus.

Location: London preferred

Total compensation: minimum 100,150 GBP annually
