Job Summary: Pay Range: $87-114/hr

Flagstar's Special Advisor – Credit Risk Operations is responsible for various special projects and initiatives under the direction of the CCO. The Special Advisor – Credit Risk Operations is an experienced leader with Credit Risk expertise; as a subject matter expert, will provide oversight and direction of strategy and enhancements and will provide guidance to specific area(s), projects, or processes. The Special Advisor – Credit Risk Operations may cover one or multiple areas of responsibility or special projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage special projects or processes under the direction of the CCO / Head of Credit Risk Operations
• Designated area or project will be determined based on need of the organization in support of over-all strategic priorities.
• Develop or refine strategies, policies or operations needed in line with best practice.
• Advise and interact with senior leaders or subject matter experts.
• Provide continuous updates and recommendations to Credit Risk Leadership regarding special projects.

Additional Accountabilities

• Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
• Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Job Requirements

• Required Qualifications:
• Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in business execution
• Minimum experience required: 8+ Years progressive Credit Risk experience.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Breadth of Experience within US Banking or specific area of expertise needed to meet the strategic initiative under the direction of the CCO.
• Job Competencies:
• Domain Expertise: Possesses excellent understanding of Credit Risk within world-class financial services organizations with complex products.
• Strategic Mindset: A change agent with experience modernizing processes and programs using a proactive approach. Demonstrated analytical and strategic approach to complex challenges leveraging data and metrics to guide strategic decision making to optimize results.
• Stakeholder Management & Influencing: Demonstrated ability to credibly engage a wide range of key internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
• Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
