What Does a Successful Senior Devops Engineer Do in Fiserv?

As a DevOps Engineer at Fiserv, your role is pivotal in managing and supporting tools, systems, and strategies for deploying software solutions across various environments. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and reproducible installation and configuration practices are followed in accordance with company guidelines.

What You Will Do:

• Implement automation processes to enhance deployment efficiency.
• Develop scripts and software as per company standards.
• Plan and test disaster recovery scenarios.
• Provide reporting and monitoring for issue identification.
• Lead and advocate for best practices within the DevOps domain.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Collaborate with team members to address technical issues and risks efficiently.
• Create tasks based on technical specifications and provide accurate estimates.
• Support the team in meeting sprint commitments and goals.

What You Will Need to Have:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Software Engineer, System Engineer, or Network Engineer role.
• At least 2 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Proficiency in administration and support of Microsoft server and database platforms.
• Experience with AWS/Azure or other Cloud platforms.
• Strong skills in scripting languages like PowerShell, Ruby, Chef, and Batch script.
• Good understanding of .Net applications support and configuration.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies, ITIL framework, and service delivery.
• Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Understanding of pipeline security and credential management.

What Would Be Great to Have:

• Development experience with Microsoft .NET and C#.
• Background in the financial industry.
• Software development qualifications.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, or XP.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or Computer Sciences.
• Industry certifications like Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
