Mortgage Sales Manager

The Sales Manager is responsible for generating mortgage loans based on the same criteria as Mortgage Loan Consultants (MLC), and recruiting, training, and managing assigned Mortgage Loan Consultants based in production centers. This position is directly responsible for loan origination objectives and leadership strategies that will expand market share.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting and retention of Mortgage Loan Consultants and business volumes
  • Compliance with company and regulatory policies and procedures of all sales employees under supervision
  • Management of professionalism and quality of customer service and teamwork demonstrated by assigned employees
  • Maintenance and management of individual loan officer production levels to company standards
  • Assist, train, and manage Mortgage Loan Consultants in cross selling of bank products
  • Overall quality of loan submissions
  • Growth of sales team, branch, and/or region
  • Daily/weekly review of actual team performance against team plan
  • Team actions to improve service quality
  • Conduct and/or participate in assigned production meetings
  • Design, implement, and oversee a business development strategy consistent with FUB policies, objectives, and regulatory guidelines to manage and consistently improve the mortgage lending sales force

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

  • Leadership through recognizing, coaching, and team building
  • Ascertaining the home financing needs of the FUB branch communities and ensuring that marketing efforts are designed to reach all demographic market segments within the communities
  • Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis
  • Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures
  • Dresses professionally
  • Recommends to supervisor possible methods to improve department

Employee specifications:

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Prefer 10 years experience in mortgage lending environment
  • At least one year of management experience preferred
  • Proven record of success for generating sales in a mortgage lending environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of Bank, mortgage, federal and state lending and compliance/regulatory matters
