Join The Fintual Squad For Mutual Funds
At Fintual, we make investments simple, transparent, and accessible to everyone. We were born with the idea that anyone, regardless of their financial status, can invest their savings wisely and grow their wealth. Half of our clients say that before Fintual, they had no experience managing their money, so our challenge is to show them how to do it and help them make it a habit.
Moreover, we are the first startup in Latin America to launch our own mutual funds.
Technology and process automation allow us to offer low-commission, no minimum amount, and 100% online investments, which is why it's crucial to maintain a high talent density and find the perfect person to join our Devs team.
We are looking for someone to join our Mutual Funds squad. We are responsible for the entire lifecycle of client investment in Mutual Funds, including the user experience on the app/web when creating and investing in goals, and the operation of the associated mutual funds (e.g., our beloved Risky Norris). As you can see, we are a core and transversal squad in Fintual.
What We Are Looking For In You
- You know how to program well and you like it a lot. You have at least two years of formal programming experience (Fullstack / Front / Back). It doesn't matter the language but it's preferable that you know and have experience with Ruby (on Rails), React (Native), Django, Go, and Python (technologies we work with). If you don't know any of these at Fintual you will have time to learn.
- You like understanding operational processes and automating them. We are looking for someone who will take charge of automating our operation and who has the willingness to learn how we operate and find possibilities for improvement in doing so.
- You are willing to learn and do things outside your area as everyone in the team does.
- You are able to express yourself with precision, transparency, and honesty. At Fintual we value that you can communicate concisely, that you are vulnerable and direct.
- You are comfortable with English. You don't have to speak it perfectly but you should be able to write and program well in English, as well as understand texts.
What Is The Process?
- Before applying to the position, you must complete the following task, then when you apply you will have to attach the link to your github repository with the answer:
- Construct a simple Portfolio class that has a collection of Stocks. Assume each Stock has a "Current Price" method that receives the last available price. Also, the Portfolio class has a collection of "allocated" Stocks that represents the distribution of the Stocks the Portfolio is aiming (i.e. 40% META, 60% APPL)
- Provide a portfolio rebalance method to know which Stocks should be sold and which ones should be bought to have a balanced Portfolio based on the portfolio's allocation.
- Add documentation/comments to understand your thinking process and solution
- Important: If you use LLMs that's ok, but you must share the conversations.
After the code review, these are the stages:
- Screening (30 min) with someone from the Devs and People team to get to know you and tell you more about the position.
- Technical interview (50 min) in which you will have to program live something we ask you.
- Conversation (30 min) with the Manager of the squad.
- We will ask for references and you can do the same with us (you can talk 15 min. with 3 people of Fintual, the ones you choose).
- Did you know that if you are a woman you are within the 35% of the population that studied some STEM career? In our experience, women apply for fewer positions than men if they see that they do not meet all the requirements. So if you are doubting, don't think so much.
Salary Compensation
- This position starts at 1.6MM liquid, which will vary according to the technical level we see.
Some of our benefits:
- 7 weeks of vacation per year, you must take at least 5 (yes, you read that right).
- Stock Options plan after 1 year.
- Medical expenses insurance.
- Breakfast and lunch when you go to the office.
- Tuesdays and Fridays without meetings.
- 12 weeks parental leave for the non-gestating person.
- We will ask you to come to the office 2 days a week if you live less than 1 hour away.
- You can always coordinate with your team the work from anywhere (connecting to +/- 1 hr of Chile or Mexico) for defined periods of time.
