About The Role:

Finova is looking for a Head of Engineering who wants to lead a technology team on its journey to a fast paced, innovative and delivery focused future. As a business we have an amazing collection of market leading and profitable products that have a huge opportunity to grow through the use of technology.

A highly successful, technology focussed management team has been created to drive Finova to the next stage of its growth and we want someone with the right skills and enthusiasm to join us on this incredible opportunity.

As the number two to the CTO, the Head of Engineering will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and will help to create and then drive the execution of Finova's technology strategy. This role requires a hands-on, delivery-oriented leader with deep technical capability, commercial acumen, and experience in scaling teams through change, ideally including post-acquisition integration.

What Will You Be Doing?

• Act as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, helping shape the strategic direction of the business and evolving the technical roadmap

• Drive a customer-first, delivery-focused engineering culture that balances innovation with execution

• Collaborate closely with Product, Commercial, Operations, and wider business functions to drive alignment and high-impact delivery

• Provide strong mentorship and leadership to engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

• Lead the evolution toward SaaS best practices across engineering functions

About You:

Technology Execution and Oversight:

• Experienced full stack technologist able to drive to pragmatic and deliverable solutions throughout all levels of the company

• Demonstrated success in leading complex migrations from on-prem to cloud environments

• Excited by the use of technology to solve problems quickly and effectively

• Expertise in managing both modern and legacy technology platforms; able to rationalise and modernise effectively

• Knowledgeable about the use of AI in modern software delivery

• Able to design and build enterprise class software that is secure, tested and instrumented

• Understands and can implement software practices such as CI/CD, TDD and SRE

Leadership and Strategy:

• Experienced in creating high performing engineering teams that excel at getting things done

Change, Integration, and Private Equity Acumen:

• Experience in PE-backed organisations, with a deep understanding of investor expectations, value creation, and delivery pace

• Proven ability to manage the integration of engineering teams post-acquisition, handling complexity with pragmatism

• Brings a hands-on, "get it done" mindset to solving real-world problems in fast-paced, evolving settings

• Commercial and Client-Centric Focus

• Strong understanding of B2B workflows and business process engineering

• Familiarity with the tech platform landscape supporting enterprise and financial services

• Brings a client mindset to the role – committed to delivering quality and results for internal and external stakeholders

Innovation and Future-Readiness:

• Keeps abreast of emerging technology trends, exploring opportunities for innovation and differentiation

• Able to articulate and justify business cases for new investments or changes across the technology stack
