Finnair Technical Operations division's task is to execute Finnair's flight operations safely, economically and in a reliable manner. Finnair Technical Operations is responsible for the airworthiness of the Finnair fleet. The key objectives of Technical Operations are safety, reliable flight operations and cost-efficient maintenance processes. Component Maintenance Services is part of Technical Operations and its main responsibility is to repair and overhaul wide variety of components from different aircraft systems.

We are looking for a Component Engineer, Component Maintenance to our compact and dynamic Component Engineering team whose main responsibility is to support and develop aircraft Component Maintenance processes, control and maintain related documentation and to follow and react on reliability metrics. As a Component Engineer you will carry out engineering responsibilities to ensure that the quality and efficiency standards of component maintenance work are met. Part of the duties include customer communications and support, to serve the widening customer base of the Component Maintenance.

Component Engineer reports to Head of Component Maintenance and works during office hours and mainly on-site at Helsinki Vantaa airport area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production support: Provide technical support and relevant instructions for component maintenance.

  • Process development: Plan and execute process improvements & training to enhance production quality and capacity; contribute to make vs. buy analysis; lead repair capability build-up projects.

  • Equipment and documentation management: Keep up tooling and testers incl. respective documentation; follow Service Bulletins and other OEM documentation.

  • Quality and compliance: Follow aircraft component reliability in liaison with systems engineering; manage component manufacturer network; control the compliance with approved procedures and aviation authority requirements.

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you'll have:

  • Relevant technical education.

  • Applicable several years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering environment. Preferably in the field of mechanical and/or electrical engineering.

  • Good communication & coordination skills.

  • Strong teamwork, co-operation and out-of-the-box thinking skills.

  • Good English language skills, both spoken and written. Fluency in Finnish is seen as an asset.

  • We also highly appreciate knowledge of aviation legislation, quality systems and processes as well as ability to adopt new technologies.
