Senior Mainframe Developer / Support Engineer

Fidelity is hiring for a Senior mainframe developer / support engineer within the R4 Responsive Margin Team covering multiple Margin products in the Brokerage Recordkeeping Technology organization.

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for responding to production incidents to assure they are remediated in a timely manner and take actions to prevent them in the future. The position requires the person to work closely with our business partners responding to application specific questions and work with the product teams to promote availability, resilience, and stability.

This position requires an experienced mainframe developer / support person with the following:

• Strong knowledge on CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL.
• Good understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing process.
• Strong experience with mainframe and DB2 tools, File-Aid, scheduler and debugger tools.
• Exposure to Brokerage/Finance domain. Specific knowledge of Brokerage/Margin products.
• Prior experience of working in highly transactional, fault tolerant and data driven systems.
• Ability to identify areas of risk or potential problems and take action to mitigate them and work with less experienced staff to mitigate more complex issues.
• Ability to work with different teams across different geographical locations.
• Ability to diagnose problems and generate effective solutions
• On-call Rotation experience

• Adhoc Research/Analysis Requests
• DR Testing
• Audits, including external PWC
• Code reviews
• Performance enhancements
• Break fixes
• Maintaining Playbooks
• Collaboration with Ready Pillar
• Mainframe focus on Critical path and maintenance.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
