We have a strong opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team in Fidelity Ireland's Asset Management Technology group. The team designs, builds, and supports software for the High Income Alternatives area. Most of our systems are built and run on AWS.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who cares about writing good-quality software. You should be comfortable writing clear, testable, and easy-to-maintain code. We expect experience in the following areas:
In this role, you will write and maintain production code and work closely with other engineers and business partners. You will turn user stories and use cases into working software and features that support Fidelity's business goals. You will be expected to think through problems and suggest practical solutions.
You can write both front-end and back-end code to a high standard. You focus on quality, testing, and long-term maintainability. You follow an approach where acceptance criteria and tests are considered early. You can find and fix performance or reliability issues, work well with others to solve problems, and communicate clearly. You also have experience working with different system designs, from large single.
Development Prowess Your strong software development foundation will see you actively participate in code and design reviews, environment strategy along with build and deployment pipeline development.
Engineering Excellence You produce high-quality code, with high test coverage and technical leadership and guidance to other team members through code reviews, mentorship and collaboration.
Agile Enablement You will own the end-to-end delivery of Agile requirements or user stories and ensure your assigned areas are robust, resilient, stable ad meet the expectations of the business partners.
Delivery Practices You utilize your experience working with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools, along with delivering with an ATDD approach and leveraging automated test techniques to deliver solutions.
Dedicated Learning Days Time allocated every 2 weeks to develop new skills and gain experience in where your curiosities lie. You work as a team to experiment with new technologies and practices.
