Lead - Software Engineering

We are looking for a dynamic and highly talented individual to play a key Quality Engineering Technical role in Workplace Investing Quality Engineering group. The role needs expertise in Java, database testing and API testing.

This is a hands-on role where he/she need to engage in developing test automation solutions using in latest technologies, lead the automation code reviews and coding standards for new projects as well as lead a team comprising of SDET's across Digital Shared Services Quality Engineering portfolios.

The person will work closely with architects, development and business stakeholders forming future QE blueprints of all our applications and also mentoring the QE teams in adapting latest technologies.

• Solid understanding of the agile software development process including analysis, design, coding, system and user testing, problem resolution, and planning. • Translate business and systems requirements into technical requirements for design, develop, document and maintain automated tests. • Actively contribute in the day-to-day design, scripting, execution and reporting of automation %. • Follows software engineering principals in development of automation and software. • Understand and apply test driven design concepts to test and debug automated solutions and software utilities developed by self and others. • Collaborate with other technical resources to suggest improvements for processes, best practices, and standards, identify opportunities to improve maintainability of automation platform.

Technical skills that are key to this role:

  • Expert in API Automation testing tools and frameworks like Playwright, Rest Assured, Karate, Selenium and Web Services – REST and SOAP.
  • Strong in Programming languages like Python or Java
  • Strong in Database knowledge (SQL, My SQL) and ETL tool. Strong SQL query skills is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills and high aptitude to learn and adapt to new processes
  • Good understanding of CI-CD Engineering

The primary objective of the Workplace Investments (WI) team is to enable the WI business in the US, while working with IT business partners in the US in a well-integrated way. WI comprises five business lines - Defined Contributions, Defined Benefits, Stock Plan Services and Health and Insurance and Health Savings Account.

Over the past 10 years the WI team has developed technical expertise on various functions within each business line of Workplace investments, across strategic new products and within data engineering. We strive to achieve technical excellence in each of these functions and help the WI business accomplish its long term objectives. This role focuses on the development of Automation Infrastructure in support of business needs and the technology evolution to a DevOps culture.
