Completions Engineering Intern

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Completions Engineering Intern to join our team for a summer internship. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of the geothermal completions process. As part of the Completions team, you will be directly involved in completion design, well construction, field execution, and post-fracturing analysis. You will collaborate with engineers, support field operations, and contribute to data analysis, technical reporting, and research on emerging technologies. This role is designed to provide both practical field exposure and analytical project work, giving you a comprehensive introduction to completions engineering in the renewable energy industry, with a focus on advancing geothermal drilling.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution of hydraulic fracturing operations
• Collaborate with the engineering team to gather and analyze data for completion design
• Support field operations by conducting data collection and monitoring equipment during well completions
• Participate in post-fracturing analysis and reporting, including performance evaluation and optimization recommendations
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends related to hydraulic fracturing
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing environments
• Previous internship or field experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus but not required

Location

Fervo Energy has offices in Houston, TX, Golden, CO, Reno, NV, Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence at our Houston Office will be required.
