Supervise Aircraft Loading and Unloading

Supervise the loading and unloading of aircraft in the most efficient and effective manner possible, ensuring safe and efficient operations at FedEx facilities on the platform, as well as overseeing customs clearance procedures. Involves management responsibility over a team of people or specific location(s) within the business. Teams may include contractors and all categories of employees: operational, administrative, mechanical/electrical technicians, supervisors, clerical staff, professionals, and advisors. Management responsibilities include the application of disciplinary measures based on applicable policies and laws.

  1. Select, train, motivate, and evaluate the subordinate staff responsible for operations on the platform, such as loading/unloading, aircraft weight and balance, ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and local authorities (labeling, proper loading/unloading, complete and organized documentation, weight and balance, signage, etc.).
  2. Control and effectively utilize human resources through planning, organizing, and scheduling activities, in order to minimize time losses and operate within the framework of capital and operating budgets.
  3. Ensure that operations on the platform are carried out safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  4. Ensure that maintenance and safety for aircraft are provided during their arrival and departure.
  5. Supervise the marshaling of incoming and outgoing flights, as well as the proper operation of ground equipment.
  6. Verify that loading/unloading procedures and weight and balance compliance are respected by the platform agents.
  7. Establish and maintain a professional and cordial relationship with local airport officials, keeping them informed of changes in local legislation that may affect the business. Such changes must be communicated to local management, affected employees, and senior management.
  8. Supervise flight delays, overloads, cancellations, and reroutings. Communicate promptly with the Flight Operations area regarding aircraft and related activities on the platform.

Education:

Two (2) years of college studies or equivalent.

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in platform operations.

  • Current driver's license with a good driving record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
