Cleaner (Prepper/Blaster) - 3rd Shift

Prepare metal surfaces for painting, which includes cleaning, filling, blasting, and sanding.

Maintain a safe, clean work environment.

Overtime commitment when needed.

Complete an Annual Hazardous Waste Management Training.

Duties include: knowing which materials are hazardous waste, adding or removing hazardous waste into accumulation containers or tanks, transferring hazardous waste to or from accumulation points, responding to spills, fires or explosion of hazardous waste by Notification of Management ONLY, signing necessary hazardous waste manifests if authorized by management, inspecting hazardous waste accumulation areas, operating and working at central accumulation points, conducting tasks involving occupational exposure to hazardous waste, and proper labeling, storage and handling of hazardous waste.

Experience and skills required: experience with hand power tools is desired, some product knowledge is helpful, ability to operate overhead crane, hoist, miscellaneous air and electric hand tools, ability to work in prolonged postures (bending, stooping, kneeling, walking, standing, and squatting) while performing all job tasks, ability to climb ladders, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Education required: high school grad or equivalent.
