Operations Assistant
We've experienced tremendous growth at James Scott Farrin over the past few years, and our OPS team is truly the glue that keeps us together and running efficiently. We are currently looking for an energetic and customer focused individual to join as our newest Operations Assistant. Becoming a member of our OPS team means interacting with all employees to provide excellent administrative support and service in a variety of situations.
Our ideal candidate will be a well-rounded individual who performs tasks related to IT problem solving, building maintenance, incoming mail, furniture moves, painting, repairs and general upkeep in a professional office setting.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Operations Assistant to support our operations team. This position is split evenly between in-office duties and travel to satellite offices across the state. The ideal candidate is organized, hands-on, and comfortable managing deliveries, setting up equipment, providing basic tech support, and performing light repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in-house staff with daily operational needs
- Assist with mailroom operations (receiving, sorting, and distributing mail and packages)
- Set up conference rooms for meetings, including video conferencing equipment
- Troubleshoot basic connectivity and AV issues
- Provide general office support and handle miscellaneous tasks as assigned
- Travel to satellite offices statewide (company vehicle provided or mileage reimbursed)
- Deliver supplies, advertising materials, and equipment
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and set up office equipment (e.g., printers, monitors, signage)
- Perform light repairs and basic maintenance tasks
- Provide on-site operational support at remote locations
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Comfortable with regular in-state travel
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Tech-savvy; comfortable with computers, basic office software, and AV equipment
- Familiarity with video conferencing systems and setup
- Basic troubleshooting skills for IT and office hardware
- Handyman skills, including light repair, basic maintenance, and tool use
- Previous experience in operations, facilities support, or a similar hands-on role
