Senior Android Software Engineer

As a Senior Android Software Engineer at Fanatics, you'll design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, high-quality systems to deliver exceptional customer experiences. As part of the Loyalty SDK team at Fanatics, we build the technology that powers how fans see and interact with FanCash across the entire company. Responsibilities include:

1. Develop, test, document, and deploy high quality software into production
2. Build features and tools that you and your team use
3. Participate in the on-call rotation when needed to troubleshoot software issues
4. Escalate when tasks or projects hit roadblocks
5. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
6. Contribute to team planning and design discussions, building more expertise around design approaches
7. Impact software quality and customer experience of product features
8. Improve testability, operational excellence metrics, and team documentation
9. Help your team define and adhere to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of our engineering strategy
10. Develop a fundamental understanding of our industry, product, feature set and roadmap
11. Work closely with our product team and other internal stakeholders to make technology decisions that grow and improve our products
12. Help to onboard and mentor junior engineers and interns
13. Remain current on the latest technologies and trends in software development
14. Must be open to occasional travel to Fanatics offices and other locations for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities

Required qualifications include:

• 5+ years of experience building highly scalable and fault tolerant mobile applications using Kotlin
• Able to effectively communicate complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences (engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, non-technical functional leaders)
• Familiar with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• You have an agile mindset; able to embrace new initiatives in a fast-paced environment
• Thrives in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where priorities evolve regularly and decisions are made quickly
• Team-first mentality, with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and a desire to strive for better
• Able to effectively work cross-functionally within an enterprise environment

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience working in a start-up environment
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform
• Experience with Jetpack Compose
• Experience with Java

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.
