Platform Engineer III

As a Platform Engineer III at Fanatics, you will contribute to building and operating the platform infrastructure that supports our technology ecosystem. You'll be part of the Platform Engineering team within the Fan Ecosystem organization, working on core platform services, automation, and tooling that enable development teams to build and run reliable software.

This role focuses on hands-on engineering, learning platform best practices, and contributing to the reliability and scalability of our systems.

Implement and maintain platform infrastructure and services that support Fanatics' technology ecosystem.

Contribute to developer tooling, automation, and CI/CD workflows to improve developer productivity.

Assist with improving observability through logging, metrics, and alerts for platform systems.

Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.

Support services running in cloud-native and containerized environments.

Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and follow-up remediation work.

Learn and apply best practices related to reliability, security, and operational excellence.

Collaborate with teammates and partner teams to deliver platform improvements.

Continuously build technical skills and understanding of platform engineering concepts.

2+ years of experience as a software engineer working on backend systems or infrastructure-related projects.

Familiarity with cloud platforms; AWS experience is a plus.

Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Basic experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

Familiarity with containerization and container orchestration concepts; experience with Kubernetes is a plus.

Understanding of observability concepts such as logging and monitoring.

Interest in reliability, automation, and improving developer experience.

Proficiency in at least one backend programming language; Go or Python preferred.

Strong desire to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility.

Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Gain hands-on experience building and operating platform systems at scale.

Contribute to systems that directly enable engineering teams across Fanatics.
