Job Overview
Performs scheduling within Surgical Services in addition to other clerical duties to meet the goals of quality care and service excellence of Fairview.
Current tentative schedule: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm / Monday through Friday
Responsibilities
- Performs efficient and accurate scheduling to ensure the exchange of information and promote the coordination of services. This may include using multiple computer programs to ensure the exchange of information and promote the coordination of services.
- Ensures entry of all services and billing records. Communicates questions to manager, charge nurse or nurse in procedure.
- Assists with ongoing system maintenance to ensure an accurate, organized and effective database.
- Completes routine duties and other clerical duties, as assigned, which may include: updates of supply requisitions, preference cards/extended preference cards, preparation of necessary reports, records and other updates, assessment and addition of providers and employees to provider file.
- Participates actively in department problem solving, identifying problems, potential solutions and methods of implementation.
- Displays excellent customer service skills with effective communication and interpersonal skills to enhance the patient and family experience for internal and external customers.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years medical office/secretarial
- Excellent computer, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work within and manage a large volume of communication and interactions with patients and families.
