Faire

Online wholesale marketplace connecting independent brands with local retailers, offering streamlined ordering, net terms, and inventory discovery tools.

Onsite Operations Manager

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future is local — independent retailers around the globe are doing more revenue than Walmart and Amazon combined, but individually, they are small compared to these massive entities. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so that small businesses everywhere can compete with these big box and e-commerce giants.

By supporting the growth of independent businesses, Faire is driving positive economic impact in local communities, globally. We're looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.

About This Role

Faire is building the infrastructure for independent retail and fulfillment is at the center of how we deliver on that promise. As Onsite Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be the primary embedded representative at our warehouse operator partner site, owning the day-to-day performance of the operation and serving as the critical link between Faire and the operator. You'll drive operational excellence, enforce quality standards, manage escalations, and ensure the warehouse runs in a way that reflects Faire's commitments to brands and retailers.

This is a high-accountability, high-visibility role for someone who thrives in fast-paced physical environments and is equally comfortable pulling a root cause analysis as they are building a working relationship with a site general manager.

What You'll Do

Drive operational excellence — onsite owner of day-to-day fulfillment performance; monitors SLAs end-to-end, runs daily/weekly operator reviews, benchmarks KPIs, and leads continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma.

Own fulfillment quality — conduct quality audits across workflows; maintains scorecards on performance; drives root cause analysis and corrective action plans to closure with the operator.

Manage escalations — primary point of contact for all operational issues from the warehouse operator and Faire's internal teams; triages, drives resolution, and maintains a structured escalation log with transparent updates to leadership.

Build the operator relationship — trusted, collaborative partner to warehouse GM and floor leadership; runs weekly business reviews, flags structural risks (capacity, staffing, tech gaps) proactively, and holds the operator accountable without being adversarial.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics operations, including 2+ years in an on-site, embedded, or senior floor leadership role
  • Direct experience managing or overseeing 3PL/operator relationships at scale
  • Proven track record improving operational KPIs (throughput, accuracy, on-time rates) in a high-volume fulfillment environment
  • Familiarity with WMS platforms, order management systems, and fulfillment tech stacks
  • Strong data fluency — comfortable pulling reports, building scorecards, and using data to drive decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; can translate operational complexity to executive audiences and collaborate effectively at all levels of an operator organization
  • Experience leading or facilitating root cause analysis and corrective action processes

Preferred

  • Experience at or managing vendor relationships with large-scale fulfillment operators
  • Lean / Six Sigma certification or demonstrated application of CI methodologies
  • Background in marketplace or B2B fulfillment contexts (wholesale, multi-brand, fragmented SKU environments)
  • Exposure to both WMS-light (operator-managed) and WMS-heavy (platform-integrated) environments

Salary range for this role is $136,500 to $187,500 per year. This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

This role is 100% in-person and requires full-time, on-site attendance at our Elwood, Illinois facility.
