As a senior advisor of Transaction Services, you will be a professional member of our Advisory Services, Financial Accounting (ASA) team. The ASA team operates mainly through four pillars: 'Enhanced Business Information and Accounting Processing, Optimization of the Finance Function, Treasury Management, and Transaction Services. We understand the evolving role of the chief financial officer and the finance function and work with our clients to automate and streamline efficiency, control, and compliance functions, while ensuring the improvement of the finance function's value for the organization. Leveraging our considerable investments in technology, knowledge, and learning resources for our advisory professionals, you will be part of a team that provides financial advisory services that meet the needs of clients and their stakeholders.

As a senior advisor of Transaction Services, you will actively contribute to growth and development teams in our Transaction Services pillar, including business development, client relationship management, and client-facing mandates. You will help finance leaders address the challenges their teams currently face. You will work with them to achieve their transaction, acquisition, divestiture, process optimization, and process digitization goals. You will offer innovative advice that will enable them to optimize their processes, use cutting-edge technologies, and create value for their organization.

Skills and qualities to succeed:

  • Identification and assessment of business and operational needs, design of solutions tailored to these needs, finance function evaluation, operational diagnostics, and financial process optimization, personalized training, and others.
  • Writing deliverables tailored to client needs.
  • Fostering an innovative and team-oriented environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining productive relationships with client leadership teams.
  • Knowing the client's business sectors and recognizing the main drivers of performance, commercial and operational trends, and technical and sectoral developments.
  • Keeping up with market developments and regulatory changes and their impacts on our clients.
  • Following training programs to enhance skills.
  • Using technology to develop, share knowledge with team members, and improve service delivery.
  • Maintaining cooperative and supportive relationships with other EY service lines teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, French proficiency is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to maintain impeccable client relationships.
  • In-depth knowledge of business trends and technical and sectoral developments.
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

What we are looking for:

  • A bachelor's degree in project management, business administration, operations management, or industrial engineering.
  • At least three years of relevant experience.
  • Professional title and/or qualifications, i.e., CA, CPA (obtained or in progress).
  • High adaptability and openness to change.
  • Integrity in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge/experience in several aspects including:
    • Assessment of the state of readiness for M&A and management of activities throughout the M&A lifecycle; prior M&A participation, an asset.
    • Planning and integration of acquisitions in all aspects of the organization/people, processes, and technology, including project management and execution.
    • Planning and managing divestitures in all aspects of the organization/people, processes, and technology, including project management and execution.
    • Experience in technical accounting related to IFRS and US GAAP.
    • Experience in audit or operational (business) in financial statement closing and establishing internal controls over financial reporting (experience in compliance with Regulation 52-109 or Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, an asset).
    • Strong analytical skills focused on profitability analysis and financial modeling.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to think critically, find creative solutions, think outside the box, and tackle new challenges.
    • Experience in process optimization or business analysis, including business process documentation.
    • Experience in process digitization projects (dashboard, robotics, etc.).
    • Experience with the following tools and software:
      • Process modeling and management tools.
      • Process flowcharting software (Visio, LucidChart, etc.).
      • Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Ability to manage and produce high-quality work products within deadlines and budget.
    • Knowledge of business processes and related work experience, including accounting to report, planning for implementation, order to cash, and procurement to payment processes, an asset.
    • Ability to work in a team with a collaborative spirit.
    • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
    • High motivation and the ability to work independently.
    • Availability to travel on short notice to meet client needs.

    • An ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, team-oriented environment where things are constantly evolving.
    • The ability to build credibility and trust quickly.
    • Proven ability to generate additional revenue from current accounts and recruit new clients among client organizations.

    The salary range for this position in British Columbia is $55,000 to $98,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and the city where the job is located.
