As a Cloud & Platform Engineer in EY’s Technology Consulting team, you’ll play a key role in designing, securing, and automating cloud-native solutions. You’ll collaborate with architects, developers, and cybersecurity specialists to embed security into every phase of the software development lifecycle, while building the foundation to grow into a strategic IT architect.
Your key responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable cloud solutions using platforms like AWS or Azure, supporting infrastructure modernization and automation efforts.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that integrate security controls, improve deployment efficiency, and ensure compliance with secure development practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop use cases, and translate business needs into technical solutions that align with enterprise architecture goals.
- Embed security into every stage of the development lifecycle, performing code analysis, vulnerability assessments, and threat modelling across cloud-native and containerized applications.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation, enabling repeatable and auditable infrastructure deployments.
- Document architecture decisions and technical specifications, ensuring clarity and alignment across business, technology, and compliance stakeholders.
- Conduct internal training and onboarding sessions to promote secure coding practices and DevSecOps culture within delivery teams.
- Stay current with cloud, security, and DevOps trends, applying insights to continuously improve system resilience, automation, and strategic alignment.
Skills and attributes for success
- Analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex problems and assess system-wide impacts.
- Strong communication skills, capable of translating technical risks into business impacts, communicate to diverse audiences and documenting solutions clearly.
- Experience working in agile or DevOps environments with a focus on automation and continuous improvement.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Collaborative and proactive, eager to work across teams.
- Growth-oriented, with a passion for learning new technologies, receiving feedback, and applying knowledge to real-world challenges.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or any related field.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and DevOps tools.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and version control tools (e.g., Git).
- Proficient in the full DevSecOps pipeline tools, including:

- Repository Manager: Nexus repository | Whitesource
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security, Azure Security Engineer, CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
