Manufacturing Engineers (Work Preparation)

We are currently recruiting for Manufacturing Engineers (Work Preparation) to support one of our customers with various projects that include involvement from concept through to the production and requires a clear understanding of aircraft assembly, methods and processes. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our client and will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in delivering the targeted outputs to support the product.
The Manufacturing Engineers will report directly to the Programme Delivery Leader (PDL) and their role will involve them to be based at an Expleo office.
Working within the ME team in our Aero Business Unit, the successful candidates will join our experienced team, with whom you will work on varied projects in high-tech and future-oriented industries taking on exciting and responsible tasks according to your skills and knowledge, thus expanding your existing know-how.
Responsibilities
- Produce Engineering outputs (Routings & SOIs) to meet on-target delivery dates and Quality requirements
- Ensure 'Right First Time' is met in-line with Business KPI's
- Create, manage and implement Process Planning outputs in line with the client's procedures
- Be involved with continuous improvement process & offer improvement suggestions
- Interface with external stakeholders to understand technical issues / specifications
- Liaise with and support design and manufacturing supply chain
- The role will be to develop & manage current production processes to improve Quality, Cost & Time measures
- Attend reviews (both internal and external) where required
- Working in accordance with Expleo QMS and customer quality requirements
Qualifications
- Engineering degree, or equivalent, with proven practical Engineering & manufacturing knowledge and experience
- Candidates without accredited qualifications will be considered depending upon experience
Essential Skills
- SAP ARP/APD experience
- Aerospace Wing Build and assembly experience
- Proactive 'Team Player' with a focus on delivery and quality who can work and act autonomously
- Ability to liaise at all levels of the business management structure
- Excellent communication skills and decision maker
- Have good written and verbal communication skills and be capable of making sound technical judgements and appropriate decisions
- Practical problem solving and communication skills
- Assertiveness, independent, structured way of working and the ability to find oneself in a multicultural working environment
Experience
- Experience of Manufacturing Processes and standards
- Several years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment
- Aerospace & Defence experience preferable but Marine & Automotive will be considered
- Proactive Team Player with a focus on delivery and quality
- Good communicator who is professional during interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Candidates will have a proven track record of delivering effective engineering solutions within cost, time and quality constraints
- Competencies required in this role will include Decision Quality, Creativity, Technical Learning, Composure and Customer Focus
