Sr. Director, RCC Marketing Strategy

Reporting to the Vice President, GU Marketing, the Sr. Director, RCC Marketing Strategy will lead the development of the three-year strategic brand plan, annual strategic plan, and line extension launch planning for possible new RCC products and/or indications.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Leading the cross functional effort required to generate and refresh the RCC 3 year and annual strategic brand plans and competitive readiness plans
  • Establishing a strategic framework and leading potential joint commercial collaborations with partner organizations
  • Communicating and ensuring organizational alignment to RCC strategic brand plan
  • Co-managing the indication financial plan
  • Collaborating with the commercial operations team to ensure effective forecast development for RCC
  • Supporting the brand by conducting periodic, deep-dive market assessments
  • Collaborating with commercial operations to optimize market research affecting RCC brand strategy
  • Driving appropriate choices for required target product profile
  • Collaborating with Sales Operations for development of sales incentives and sales analytics
  • Managing the RCC brand budget and supporting necessary ROI analysis
  • Engaging with GU key customers and accounts to develop market insights
  • Executing RCC strategic programs as required by the brand
  • Ensuring compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern Exelixis conduct
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory responsibilities include:

  • Directly supervising employee(s). Indirectly supervising employees through a dotted line structure or via other subordinate supervisors

Education/experience/skills:

Education:

  • Master's degree in related discipline and 13 years of related experience; or
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline and 15 years of related experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • Pharmaceutical marketing and/or strategic consulting experience
  • Sales, sales management, and managed care experiences are plus
  • Oncology experience is required

Knowledge/skills/abilities:

  • Ability to develop sound strategic concepts and clearly articulate these to brand and cross-functional team members
  • Cross functional leadership with the ability to build consensus and drive key decisions
  • High level of learning agility; comprehends all aspects of the market place that effect current and future brand performance (e.g. coverage, distribution, sales incentives, regulatory, and finance)
  • Effective presentation and written communication skills
  • Understanding of FDA Regulations of pharmaceutical drug promotions and experience with Legal, Medical and Regulatory review processes
  • Knowledge of reimbursement mechanisms for both injectable and specialty oral medications
  • Knowledge of managed care environment, including pharmacy and medical benefit design
  • Strong command of MS Excel and financial modeling ability
  • Project management skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $252,500 - $358,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate's geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors. In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan.
