Responsibilities

  • Operation of the locomotives: You manually and/or remotely control the locomotives
  • Maneuver trains: You prepare and conduct train maneuvers in stations and on tracks, industrial tracks, and loading areas
  • Inspection of locomotives: You check the locomotives for the functionality of the drive, control, and braking systems
  • Formation of trains: You are responsible for the reception and disassembly of the incoming trains, assembly of the wagon groups for the loading area service, and formation of trains of different types
  • Control: You control the wagon technical inputs, taking into account the dangerous goods regulation (RID), walking the area of responsibility, and weighing the goods wagons using a track scale
  • Documentation: You regularly conduct shift logs and necessary documents

Requirements

  • Training: You have a successful completed vocational training as a railway worker in the operational service, ideally in the field of locomotive driver in freight transport
  • Experience: As a railway worker, you can present good experience and are familiar with the regulations for the transport of dangerous goods by rail (RID)
  • Knowledge: You have extensive vehicle knowledge, especially with regard to diesel vehicles
  • Language Skills: Your German language skills are very good in speech and writing
  • Personal Skills: You are a cooperative and reliable team player, physically resilient, and have a flexible mindset
  • Others: You hold a locomotive driver license according to VDV driver's license class 1, respectively class A of the TfV and have the willingness to further education
