M365 Engineer - Identity & Messaging

The main purpose of this role:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing L3 support across services managed by the Identity & Messaging team. This includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft O365 and Azure environments, tenants and cloud, Intune (MDM), SharePoint, Teams, Exchange (Online), Certificate management, PowerShell, Access management, and authentication.
- Ensure the Messaging & Identity team delivers quality, secure, and reliable IT services to the business and clients.
- Make recommendations to the Manager of Identity & Messaging – Delivery & Operations regarding items necessary to maintain or enhance current service standards.
- Develop and deliver a robust and effective technical platform that aligns with business strategy and IT architecture roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the performance and availability of Eversheds Sutherland's IT platforms fully support the needs of the business and its clients, keeping them at an appropriate level and in line with technological changes.
- Monitor and maintain Messaging & Identity systems services to high levels of quality, as defined within negotiated and agreed service level agreements, parameters, or contracts, and in accordance with industry-standard best practices.
- Configure all services to meet service level agreements and design them to adhere to disaster recovery and cyber threat principles.
- Take a proactive approach in identifying future trends and issues, assisting in the development of new or amended services accordingly.
- Collaborate with other internal IT teams to enhance the overall experience of services.
- Develop relationships with third-party providers.
- Continuously evolve current services, striving for excellence and driving efficiency.
- Member of an On-Call Rota for out-of-hours P1 major incident.
Skills and Experience:
- Hands-on technical experience with Messaging and Identity management platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft O365 and Azure environments, tenants and cloud, Intune (MDM), SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online, Certificate management, PowerShell, Access management, and authentication.
- Extensive experience with Identity Management and single sign-on (SSO) technologies.
- Expertise in Mobile Device Management (MDM), particularly with Intune, and Exchange Online
- Experience in migrating from other platforms into the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Third-line engineering background with the ability to troubleshoot deep technical issues.
- Good understanding of MS Products and Licensing.
- Good understanding of O365, Active Directory, Azure AD Connect, and Azure AD.
- Ability to articulate technical scenarios and solutions in non-technical language.
- Team player, operationally savvy with a strong emphasis on providing quality service.
- Experience transitioning an infrastructure system from hosted to hybrid hosted/cloud.
- Skilled in analytical and problem-solving.
- Understanding of ITIL and other business and IT methodologies.
- Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others to achieve goals.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of analysis, experience, judgment, and intuition.
