Eurofins MicroSafe Laboratories in Leiden is a GMP certified contract laboratory for the (bio)pharmaceutical industry. Eurofins MicroSafe counts approximately 70 employees and is part of the internationally operating Eurofins Scientific. We have a professional team consisting of a mix of young and experienced people with different backgrounds and experiences.

Eurofins MicroSafe Laboratories offers unique tests that allow us to investigate the safety, effectiveness, and quality of a biological medicine, including cell and gene therapies, vaccines, and monoclonal antibodies. For example, we can demonstrate whether a medicine is free from microbial, viral, or production process related contaminants. In addition to performing standard tests, we also set up product specific tests in close collaboration with the customer.

As a Laboratory Support Officer, you are responsible for maintaining the laboratory and supporting the analysts. You are part of our dynamic team that focuses on ensuring the safety and quality of biological medicines. The duties include:

• Maintaining the laboratory and related matters;
• Receiving goods and replenishing lab supplies;
• Disposing of handled materials and waste according to procedures;
• Checking logs and scanning documentation;
• Cleaning laboratory glassware and other materials;
• Performing basic activities such as test preparation, test sample logging, internal environmental monitoring, entering test results in the Lab Information Management System (LIMS);
• Helping to order lab supplies;
• Actively participating in internal meetings, trainings, and improvement initiatives.

For the position of Laboratory Support Officer, we are looking for someone who is eager to work in our QC lab in Leiden but does not necessarily have a completed laboratory training. Experience in the lab is also not a requirement, but an affinity with the named competencies is important. What we find important are:

• A positive attitude and motivation to work in our QC lab in Leiden;
• Several years of experience, possibly gained in another industry;
• A specific prior education is not necessary;
• Ability to work accurately according to established procedures and tight deadlines;
• Flexibility in dealing with a wide variety of tasks;
• A critical attitude towards one’s own work;
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
