Job Description

Are you detail-oriented, proactive, and excited to support scientific innovation behind the scenes? As a Lab Operations Specialist, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment. Your work will directly support scientific teams and ensure our labs are ready for discovery every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage lab inventory, prepare media, and ensure supplies are stocked
  • Monitor temperature-controlled units, fume hoods, and safety cabinets
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration scheduling
  • Maintain documentation, including lab notebooks and logbooks
  • Safely handle and transport compressed gases and cryogenic liquids
  • Keep lab spaces clean, organized, and properly labeled
  • Use digital platforms to coordinate workflows across departments
  • Complete required safety and procedural training
  • Work in areas handling potent chemical compounds

Qualifications

  • Associate degree (AS) in Life Sciences or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in computer applications with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to meet physical demands, including:
    • Routinely lifting objects weighing 25 lbs. or more
    • Standing and walking for extended periods
    • Pushing/pulling carts and equipment
    • Bending and reaching for supplies
  • Familiarity with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Comfortable navigating and operating within multiple electronic systems.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Quick to learn new processes, capable of multitasking, and committed to maintaining accurate records and following established procedures.
  • Authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

What to Expect in the Hiring Process:

  • 10-15 Minute Phone Interview with Region Recruiter
  • 45-60 Minute Virtual Interview with Manager and/or Group Leader

Additional Details:

The position is full-time, Sunday through Thursday, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
