Engineering Technician IV (Distribution Engineering)

The Distribution Engineering Technician IV will work closely with customers, agencies, operations and facilities personnel, and their team to perform highly technical office and field tasks to support the design, construction, and maintenance of electric distribution systems and facilities with limited supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consulting and mentoring support for design, technical, and policy/procedural related inquiries including interpreting various regulatory compliance policies.
  • Design large Capital Improvement Projects, among others, and manage consultant work. This includes contract management, assigning work requests, evaluating costs, QC/QA, releasing RTW packet to operations, and managing the project.
  • QA/QC: Responsible for reviewing designs and cost estimates.
  • Inspect fieldwork for compliance with design and construction standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience aligned to successfully perform the essential duties of this job may qualify.

Minimum Experience: Two (2) years of experience as an Engineering Technician III or eight (8) years of equivalent utility experience in design tasks and customer contact relating to electric distribution systems.

Education: Associate's degree in an engineering discipline. Satisfactory completion of NWPPA staking technician program, or other approved technician training course may substitute.

Compensation

The starting annual salary range for this position, commensurate with knowledge, skills, and education as they relate to the position is: $100,538.39 - $121,130.58.

Telecommuting: This position is based in Eugene, Oregon, and has been approved as a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site at the supervisor's discretion and based on business need. The selected candidate must live in the state of Oregon. Out of area candidates may be eligible for a relocation reimbursement.
