Sales Development Manager

To drive profitable growth across Enva Plastics by acquiring new business, strengthening and developing customer relationships, and supporting the commercial strategy through technical sales expertise. The role will focus on expanding our UK and EU polymer manufacturing customer base, with particular attention to our specialist White HIPS compounds and wider recycled polymer portfolio.

The postholder will act as the key link between customers and Enva's production and product development teams, ensuring we meet market needs and deliver high-quality recycled polymer solutions. This role is a fixed term 1 year contract providing maternity cover.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development:

  • Develop and implement targeted sales strategies supported by the Commercial Manager and GM to achieve growth and financial objectives.
  • Promote Enva Plastics' full product portfolio, with specific focus on White HIPS compounds and associated technical applications.
  • Identify, approach, and secure new business through a range of channels including cold outreach, warm leads, industry networking, expos and exhibitions.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to achieve and exceed agreed KPIs and growth targets.
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of key accounts as the primary point of contact.

Customer & Market Engagement:

  • Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with customers across the UK & EU to identify opportunities for product development and application expansion.
  • Develop trusted, long-lasting customer relationships based on technical credibility and proactive account management.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the UK & EU recycled polymer compound markets, competitor activity, customer trends, and pricing movements.
  • Provide regular market updates, feedback, and recommendations to the Commercial Manager and GM.

Technical & Operational Alignment:

  • Build a detailed understanding of the Enva Plastics production process and product range.
  • Translate customer technical requirements into clear briefs for production and product development teams.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues across operations, quality, and logistics to ensure customer requirements are fully supported.
  • Participate in internal sales meetings and contribute to product development discussions.

Reporting, Compliance & Standards:

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales activity, forecast updates, CRM data and performance metrics.
  • Support the development and monitoring of budgets and financial targets.
  • Adhere to all ENVA policies, including health & safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Promote ENVA values and contribute to a positive, professional commercial culture.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Proven experience in a commercial, sales or business development role. Experience managing a sales pipeline and achieving revenue targets. Ability to understand technical product information and communicate it effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Ability to work independently and manage own schedule. Self-motivated, proactive, and commercially focused. Able to build strong internal and external relationships. Professional, resilient, and confident representing ENVA at all levels.

Job Requirements:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Regular UK travel and occasional EU travel to customer sites and industry events.
  • Full driving licence required.
